Laser Lux is specifically designed for effective hair removal without exposing you to any unnecessary light radiation from other wavelengths.  This makes Laser lux far more effective than IPL because it is more concentrated.

  • At your initial treatment the hair should be visible on the surface of the skin
  • As the laser is directed onto the hair heat energy is drawn into the melanin, which in turn heats the rest of the hair shaft
  • The heat either weakens or completely destroys the hair follicle. As a result the follicle detaches from the hair shaft.
  • The hair sheds and, without the follicle, hair cannot grow in the area 


 

 

PRE-TREATMENT FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL 


  • Shaving within 48 hours prior to treatment is recommended, as this will clear the necessary amount of extra growth
  • Avoid tanning 4-6 weeks prior to treatment
  • Self-tanning creams and –sprays need to be completely faded before treatment
  • Do not apply any lotions, creams, make-up and deodorant before treatment
  • Wear comfortable, loose ? fitting clothes on the treatment day, as this will allow easy access to treated area and provide comfort and minimal irritation after treatment
  • Avoid any chemical peels 4 weeks before and after treatment

 

 

 

POST - TREATMENT 


  • If you are feeling any discomfort, redness and bumps, apply ice- packs, cool towels, aloe vera gel or after-sun gel 
  • Avoid direct sun exposure after treatment
  • Exfoliate treated area gently to minimize the risk of ingrown hair (only start 1 week after treatment)
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms or very hot water for at least 48 hours after treatment, as laser treatments use heat to destroy hair follicles, thus it can increase skin irritation
  • Do not use any other form of hair removal such as tweezing, waxing or electrolysis after treatment, as this will disturb the hair follicle in the treated area
  • If you had your underarms treated, DO NOT put any deodorant for 24hrs after treatment to reduce skin irritation
